The filter effectiveness depends on design principle and filter.  

Working principle 

When compressed air enters the filter, it must pass through a spiral-shaped wing, where the air flow will be twisted. The centrifugal effect caused by the spiral motion making the water particles and solid impurities are pushed into the inner wall of the filter, then these contaminants will fall to the bottom of the filter. The compressed air passes through the filter compartment, they are filtered here before flowing to the air outlet. The cleanness of compressed air depends on the width of the filter hole, dirt particles smaller than the filter hole can still come in with compressed air. In common filters, the filtration net has a hole width of 30 µm to 70 µm. Micro filters have hole widths below 3 µm. Occasionally, the filter must be cleaned to separate contaminants, particles, otherwise the flow of air through the filter will be limited. It is not possible to determine the optimal time for cleaning the filter compartment, because the filter maintenance time depends on the amount of dirt and the amount of air passing through the filter.

Notes:The condensate must be discharged when maximum condensation is reached. Draining the condensate by turning the screw clockwise.

Working principle:

When compressed air enters the filter, it must pass through a twist- shaped, the air stream will be twisted. Coarse contaminants (water particles, solid objects), under the action of centrifugal force will be pushed into the inner wall of the filter, then these contaminants will fall into the storage chamber. The compressed air passes through the filter compartment and then the pressure regulator, secondary pressure will impact on one side of the membrane and create a force to balance the force of the spring that has been adjusted by the knob. If the higher pressure will push the sealed disc into the valve base, preventing the compressed air from the secondary side. If the secondary side consumes compressed air, the impact on the membrane will decrease. The spring will lift the sealed disc from the valve base and the compressed air can flow through the secondary side. To stop the valve from vibration, it is necessary to install a shorck absorber. Two vents on the pressure regulator shell should be well-ventilated.
